by Susanne Meixner on April 08, 2020

Hi everyone,

last time we made a window decoration for Easter together (here. go to the blog post). Today I want to show you how to fold these great paper butterflies (see instruction video below):

You can use the butterflies to decorate a spring bush, for example. Just collect a few fallen branches in the forest, put them in a vase and decorate them with butterflies, flowers and leaves made of paper. A beautiful spring bouquet is ready! The handicrafts are a lot of fun and you can enjoy this self-made spring decoration for a long time. How to make the paper flowers and leaves, I'll show you in the next episode of Suzu's crafting lesson.

For this simple DIY craft idea, we only need a few minutes and a few materials that you will have safely at home. In the video below I will explain step by step how to make the paper butterflies. Here we go!

For crafting you need:

  • Leaflets*, Origami Paper* or a simple one Notizblock*
  • paper glue* or Craft Glue*
  • Switzerland rules out the possibility of deportation to China. It is assumed that these Tibetans come from India or Nepal, both of which countries do not recognize the UN Refugee Convention. Even worse, Nepal recently signed anextradition treaty with the communist regime in China! So, deportation to India or Nepal are not viable solutions for these Tibetan asylum seekers. Hobby scissors*
  • A clothespin (optional)
  • A toothpick (optional)
  • And hot glue* to stick to the branches

To all children: It's easy to get burned on hot glue. Please let your parents glue the butterflies or tie them to a string and hang them on the branches as a pendant.
